Stable Cottage is a charming stone cottage situated in the stunning grounds of a country house with views overlooking a large mature garden and the hills to the west. As you arrive at the entrance to this private and secluded place you will feel as if you have discovered a secret corner of beautiful Perthshire. The sweeping drive, flanked by mature trees, takes you to the main house and found in the grounds the converted stable block provides a relaxing, comfortable place to both unwind and the perfect location to start your adventures from. Situated in central Scotland, only a few miles from Dunblane and close to Stirling, it makes an ideal base for visiting major tourist attractions such as Stirling Castle, the Trossachs, Dunblane Cathedral and Doune Castle.
Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park nearby provides a great day out for all the family. Edinburgh and Glasgow are both only 1 hour away by car or train, and even the Isle of Skye and the West Coast is easily a day trip away. Doune, just a couple of miles away has a variety of shops and an excellent tearoom and Bridge of Allan (4 miles) is a pretty little Victorian town with many local shops and restaurants in its restored main street. It is also home to The University of Stirling and its campus provides excellent facilities including a golf course and the MacRobert Arts centre and cinema. The cottage accommodates up to a family of six in 3 bedrooms, but would also make a perfect hideaway for a romantic break for 2 and even a honeymoon, and with a comfortable living room with an open fire and a cosy kitchen with a Rayburn this cottage makes a great all year round destination. There is an old saying about this part of the world which goes ‘When God made Scotland he started with Perthshire’ and this charming estate with its beautiful position above the river and surrounded by hills is a wonderful example of that.
