Westacre Lodge is situated near the famous Gleneagles Hotel, just 5 miles from Crieff (off the A85) and only 25 minutes from the City of Perth. It forms an excellent base for touring many of Scotland’s famous and historic attractions and with an array of outdoor pursuits, including golf - there are half a dozen courses all within 10 miles of your accommodation, shooting and hill walking, not to mention incredible views in every direction, this is an ideal location for any kind of holiday – at any time of year. Situated in the owners’ grounds it has recently been extended and refurbished to provide spacious, comfortable accommodation over two floors, you will find a twin bedded room downstairs and a double upstairs and bathrooms on both floors. The bright, spacious living room provides panoramic views southwards towards the Ochil Hills and a wood burning stove to return to after a day out exploring, and what a great location to start from. So near to the main artery through the Highlands of Scotland - the A9, you can be in the pretty Perthshire villages of Dunkeld or Pitlochry within 30 and 45 minutes respectively, but speed isn’t always the best way to discover this wonderful and diverse part of Scotland. There are many back roads to discover with Castles, from Scone to Glamis, to name only couple and visitor centres including the Famous Grouse Experience based at Scotland’s oldest distillery Glenturret and the Crieff Visitors Centre with an extensive children’s play area for all ages, and also with a pottery and garden centre, all easily within reach. For those who prefer the great outdoors there are many easy and harder walks nearby including the intriguingly named ‘Wee Sma Glen’ that takes you through a pretty glen and on to Loch Tay. Of course holidays are for relaxing too and at Westacre you can play croquet on the lawn and enjoy a BBQ on the patio and not have to go anywhere.
