This unique self-catering cottage provides fabulous high quality accommodation for 10 people with hand crafted furnishing to an extremely high standard. There is a very spacious living area with a kitchen, dining room, sitting room and sun room and 4 double bedrooms. There are 2 woodburners, one in the kitchen and one in the sitting room and an ample supply of wood from the surrounding 130 acres of grounds.

Peace and tranquility is combined with the opportunity to take part in a wide range of country pursuits – visit the arboretum with 240 tree species, walking, bird watching with over 70 species, deer stalking, clay pigeon shooting, shooting, stabling for horses and fishing. All pets welcome.

Its excellent central location is perfect to explore the surrounding area. Start of with the birthplace of the railways with the original route of the Stockton and Darlington Railway (the world's 1st steam-worked public railway) to be found at the Head of Steam Museum in Darlington. Captain James Cook was born in Marton just outside Middlesbrough and set sail from Whitby. Find out more by visiting the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum in Middlesbrough. Enjoy the maritime heritage of the area by visiting the award winning Hartlepool Maritime Experience. And it’s not just the area’s natural beauty that holds a few surprises; visit a range of attractions from the award-winning Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (mima) to Britain’s best high street in Yarm (as voted by the BBC in 2007) and to Britain’s best pier (2009) in Saltburn.
The market towns of Northallerton and Richmond nearby offer excellent independent shops and a weekly market to the visitor

Further afield, Durham is a city rich in heritage with a striking Norman cathedral and castle, one of Britain’s first World Heritage sites. Investigate the Bowes Museum or for a more everyday experience of the North East’s past, visit Beamish Open Air Museum and Killhope, the North of England Lead Mining Museum, situated in the North Pennines a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. NewcastleGateshead is around 40 miles away. Spearheading the area’s cultural wave are BALTIC, the centre for contemporary art, the magnificent music venue Sage Gateshead and the Great North Museum. A visit to romantic Whitby and historic York is also within easy reach.
