North Yorkshire Dales Holiday Cottages – one’s bound to be perfect

The Yorkshire Dales is a National Park and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). It is genuinely one of the most stunning areas in the UK with moorland uplands, green fields, exceptional river valleys, limestone walls and cliffs plus diverse flora and fauna. Most of the National Park lies within the county and old “riding” of North Yorkshire. We’ve over 80 Yorkshire dales holiday cottages from Teesdale in the North, Kirby Lonsdale and Settle in the West, through the true dales of Swaledale, Wensleydale, Ribblesdale, Wharfedale and Nidderdale to Skipton and Harrogate in the South and East. One is bound to be right for you.

The whole area is full of picture perfect towns and villages plus there are sensational outdoor activities too. There is superb walking (2 of the most famous walks in the UK go through the area – The Pennine Way and Coast to Coast), fishing, mountain biking, potholing or rock climbing. Plus there are great natural, historical and archaeological sites too – including stunning Malham Cove, underground cavern systems (some as big as Cathedrals) and real Abbeys themselves. Lets not forget the marvelous TV and films which have (and continue) to be filmed here – Emmerdale,  The James Herriot All Creatures Great and Small, and the Film Calendar Girls to name a few. The Yorkshire Dales are truly a fantastic location for a holiday or short break.

There are also 3 world class Michelin Starred restaurants in the area (Pateley Bridge, Bolton Abbey and Ilkley) or more local fare at Farmers Markets and some great pubs throughout the region too. So self catering can be made as simple as you like. There are also great museums (including 2 breweries in the small town of Masham – Theakstons and Black Sheep). Ask about the rivalry – they are both run by owners of the same family hence the name Black Sheep.
