The lovely picture postcard village of Snape is reached by an avenue of ancient lime trees and was once home to Catherine Parr, last wife of Henry VIII. Castle Mews Holiday Cottages have been superbly created from the old coach house and stable block of Snape Castle and the Cart House is the newest of the three cottages. Carefully retaining the charm and character of the exterior buildings and courtyard the interior has been furnished to a high standard in contemporary style and provides a warm and comfortable holiday home for two. Gas central heating ensures a warm welcome in cooler months and there is a rear garden for relaxing and al fresco dining on warm summer days. Ideally situated for exploring the whole of the Dales with Bedale just 4 miles away, Leyburn, Richmond, Ripon and Thirsk all within a 10 mile radius and with the North York Moors, York, Scarborough and Whitby all within easy reach for a day's outing. Thorp Perrow Arboretum is almost next door with lovely woodland walks, visitor centre and tea shop and Constable Burton Hall gardens are just a short drive away. There is a farm shop and pub serving excellent food in the village with further shops, pubs, restaurants and tea shops in nearby Bedale. There is ample private parking.
