Skipton, Gateway to the Dales, North Yorkshire.  Property 10855

Weekly bookings start on a Saturday.

Situated near to the Leeds-Liverpool canal and its cheerfully decorated barges, and just a few minutes walk from the centre of the historic market town of Skipton, this well-equipped property offers comfortable and convenient holiday accommodation suitable for either couples or a small family. As well as having great views over the canal and the surrounding countryside from the lounge and master bedroom, the cottage has an enclosed yard where you can sit out and relax on a fine day and there is a TV in the master bedroom and a games console in the second bedroom. Skipton has a good variety of shops and boasts a fine selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants.

GF: lounge, kitchen/diner. FF: double (access from one side of bed only), kingsize double, bathroom with shower over bath.

In addition to the canal and the colourful outdoor market which is held 4 days each week along the High Street, Skipton and the surrounding area have plenty of other visitor attractions on offer, including the medieval castle, which is one of the most complete and well-preserved of its kind in England and the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, which is just a short drive away.
Skipton makes an excellent base for a holiday in the Yorkshire Dales, with attractions such as Malham Cove, the Three Peaks and the world heritage site of Fountain's Abbey not much more than half an hour's drive, and the historic city of York just over an hour.
