Situated in a peaceful countryside location just two miles outside the historic city of Ripon, this is a comfortable and welcoming single storey property which was once an old byre. One of two holiday properties on a working farm, the cottage has been converted sympathetically and to a high standard, retaining original features such as beamed ceilings and trusses, yet offering up to date facilities and with some accessibility features. The cottage overlooks an open field and wooded bank and guests have access to a sunny and sheltered courtyard with patio furniture.
The small city of Ripon, with its impressive Cathedral, is just a few minutes drive away from the cottage. A market is held every Thursday on the Ripon market square next to its 300 year old Obelisk, where the Hornblower sounds his horn at 9 o’clock every night. Just outside the city centre is the Lightwater Valley theme park, the World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey and the stunning gardens of Newby Hall. The spa town of Harrogate is only 15 minutes away from the cottage and has a range of shops, restaurants and the famous Turkish Baths. The beautiful RHS gardens at Harlow Carr are also well worth a visit. The Yorkshire Dales are also within easy reach as is the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, and the historic city of York is 45 minutes away.
