Situated on the edge of the attractive Upper Wharfedale village of Buckden, and at the foot of Buckden Pike, this well-equipped cottage offers comfortable, traditionally styled accommodation for up to 4 people, with special consideration given to the needs of those with restricted mobility; as well as ground floor bedroom and accessible bathroom facilities, the cottage has a level main entrance and ramped access from the lounge onto the South facing patio, which offers views over the village to the hills beyond. Basic provisions are available in the small village shop and there are 3 pubs serving food within 5 minutes drive, whilst Kettlewell, 3 miles away, and Grassington,10 miles, have a good range of visitor facilities including shops, cafes and pubs. Keen walkers have plenty of upland and lowland walks to choose from in this area, with the Dales Way long distance footpath passing through the village, and Buckden Pike right on the cottage doorstep - this steep hike well worth the effort for the panoramic views when you reach the top. Mountain bikers and horseriders will not be disappointed around here either, with opportunities for both available locally. Buckden makes an excellent base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, with the interesting market town of Skipton, the Wensleydale Cheese Factory in Hawes, and Malham Cove not more than half an hour's drive, and - ideal for a day trip - attractions such as the World Heritage Site of Fountain's Abbey, and the historic City of York with its magnificent Minster, nationally renowned Jorvik museum, and quaint shopping streets.
