There are lawned gardens and gravelled patios with table and chairs overlooking fields and woodland ideal for al fresco dining and relaxing and the property has full gas central heating ensuring a warm welcome at any time of the year. The market town of Barnard Castle has plenty of interesting shops, pubs and tearooms and the Bowes Museum housing important collections of paintings, prints, sculptures, ceramics and silver objects d'art has special events throughout the year. Walkers and cyclists will find footpaths a plenty taking you through beautiful scenery and quiet country lanes and many of the villages have a local inn serving excellent food and real ale. Raby Castle one of England's finest medieval castles and Hamersterley Forest with footpaths, cycle tracks and picnic areas are both within easy reach.
