Lovingly refurbished and with outstanding views over the Howardian Hills, in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this holiday cottage offers very comfortable accommodation for a couple at any time of the year. On the ground floor is the lounge with open ceiling beams, a sofa and a dining area. A small but fully equipped kitchen is found to the rear of the cottage leading to a utility area with plenty of storage space. The first floor has one double bedroom with spectacular views towards the Vale of York. The bathroom has a large freestanding bath and shower attachment. This period property is situated on the edge of the North Yorks National Park with excellent walking and cycling right from the doorstep. The market town of Helmsley with a picturesque square, quality shops and variety of restaurants is approximately 4 miles away. There are many local places of interest close by including Byland Abbey, Duncombe Park, Nunnington Hall, Castle Howard and Rievaulx Abbey. There is a Sports Centre at Ampleforth with squash courts, a gym and indoor swimming pool, or hang gliding at Sutton Bank and horse riding at Helmsley. There’s also the opportunity to take a steam train trip on the North York Moors Railway from Pickering to Goathland – home of TV programme Heartbeat. Not far away is the Flamingoland Theme Park. Further afield is York. You’ll find the wellknown seaside resorts of Scarborough, Filey and Whitby on the east coast.
