Conveniently situated on a quiet street just a short walk from the centre of the small market town of Kirkby Moorside, this attractive three storey Georgian cottage offers comfortable and flexible holiday accommodation for up to 7 people. With carefully restored period features including beamed ceilings and stripped floorboards, cheerful country style décor and a wood burning stove in its open plan living area, the cottage has a cosy welcoming feel and makes a lovely base for a holiday in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. Perfect for a family holiday, just 50 metres from the cottage there is a lovely wooden play park which provides a safe area for toddlers and children of all ages to play.
There are pubs, cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance of the cottage, in addition to an interesting selection of shops and a twice weekly open air market. Kirkby Moorside and the beautiful surrounding countryside is a great area for outdoor pursuits including walking, cycling and horse riding, whilst Golf enthusiasts will be pleased to find that there is an excellent course only a few minutes drive from the cottage. Keen mountain bikers will want to explore the world class trails in the nearby Dalby Forest, where more adventurous individuals can also try out the Go Ape high wires course. There are plenty of interesting places to visit within easy driving distance of Kirkbymoorside, including the North York Moors steam railway at Pickering, the quaint port of Whitby and the picturesque fishing villages around it, the 'Heartbeat' village of Goathland, and of course, a little further afield but well worth a visit, the historic city of York with its impressive gothic Minster and fascinating Yorvik Museum.
