There are plenty of local footpaths and bridleways throughout the area including a pleasant stroll to the local 40ft pool on the river Hodder where picnicking and swimming can be enjoyed. For those wanting to tour the area of Whitewell, Forest of Bowland and Ribble Valley this is an excellent base.
