In the heart of the quiet village of Braithwaite near Keswick, this well appointed lakeland stone barn conversion enjoys some stunning views over Skiddaw and the Northern Fells, and is an excellent base for a holiday in the beautiful Lake District National Park. Braithwaite has two village pubs serving food as well as a couple of nice restaurants, and a well stocked village shop where you can buy most necessities. The bustling market town of Keswick is just two miles away and offers a fine selection of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Outdoor enthusiasts are extremely well catered for in this area, whilst those who prefer a gentle drive around the countryside or quiet afternoon by the lakeside have plenty of opportunities locally.

This is fantastic walking country and most of the Lake District's major peaks, including Skiddaw, Helvellyn and Scafell Pike, can be reached easily from here, whilst the Whinlatter mountain bike trails, and the 'Go Ape' treetop adventure course are right on the doorstep.
Take a drive over the Whinlatter Pass to Buttermere, and appreciate the wonderful views as you head over the Honister Pass into Borrowdale.
The cottage is close to Bassenthwaite Lake where you can enjoy fishing and sailing, and possibly catch sight of one of the Lake District's Ospreys, which nest in this area. Try a cruise on Derwentwater during your stay to appreciate the magnificent views around Keswick
