In a wonderfully peaceful setting in the Lickle Valley between Coniston and Broughton in Furness, this comfortable and spacious barn conversion offers excellent quality holiday accommodation for groups of up to 8 people. Built in attractive Lakeland stone, the cottage enjoys wonderful views across wooded hillsides toward White Pike and down towards the river in the valley below. With an open fire to toast your feet by after a hard day's walking, and a sunny patio area with a spectacular outlook where you can relax on fine days, this cottage really has it all, and being half a mile off the beaten track is the ideal place to get away from it all! This said, everyday provisions can be found in the nearby village of Broughton in Furness, and the Blacksmith's Arms in Broughton Mills, a mile from the cottage, is a great place to have a meal or sample the local ales. The characterful market town of Ulverston is only 30 minutes away by car, with quaint shops and a covered market, whilst Coniston Water is only 15 minutes drive. This is fine hiking country - there are excellent trails right from the cottage door to White Pike, Walna Scar, Coniston & Seathwaite. Keen mountain bikers will find interesting routes in the nearby forest or may want to venture a little further afield to try out the fantastic rides in the Grizedale Forest.
